Sitting here on Mother's Day I have been reflecting on mothers, especially that of my own mother. When I became a mother, I knew that generally motherhood involved feeding, changing, dressing, comforting, cooking, cleaning, etc. However I never knew how HARD it really would be, but it is so rewarding. Tina Fey put it right when she said, "Being a mother has made me so tired. And so happy." This day is a day to not only celebrate our mothers, but all women who have inspired, believed, supported, and loved us. It is a day for all the mothers in the world, to the:
- moms who never had a chance to hold her precious little angel
- moms who lost their child way to soon in this life
- moms are looking down from heaven
- foster moms who give their love to those in need
- adoptive mom who loves unconditionally
- mom who is up all hours of the night with a newborn baby
- mom who juggles multiple kids
- mom who works but who still makes time to be a mother
- stay at home mom who talks to toddlers all day long
- empty nesters who can't wait until their babies com home to visit
- loving grandmothers
- soon to be moms and the mothers of the future
- and especially to those who longed to be a mother but struggle with infertility
- and those who were never give the opportunity to have children
These amazing examples of wonderful women are to be celebrated and appreciated on this special day. You are amazing! My mom, who is nothing short of amazing, who has taught me everything, and who is my best friend, thank you! You have truly taught me what a mother is and should be. I try harder everyday to be like you and hope that I can be like the mother you are to me, to my children.
