I'm Doing a Whole30

Wednesday, September 30, 2015

I have decided to do a Whole 30. If you are wondering exactly what a Whole 30 is, their website gives a whole explanation of what it is, and has many resources for a successful journey through it. But basically the jist of the whole program is to take out certain foods that can have a negative impact on your diet. By doing this, some positive outcomes are having more energy, feeling better in general, and even weight-loss. They recommend before starting the program to set some goals to help keep your focus while doing the program. My goals are to:
  1. Eat more intuitively
  2. Have better overall health
  3. Up my energy levels
Cutting out all sugar, grains, dairy, and legumes will be a struggle at first, but I know I can do it. It is only thirty days, and a small trade-off for feeling better. Wish me luck as I start my journey!

Ella {5 Months}

Thursday, September 24, 2015

Ella is growing up right before our very eyes! She is getting more and more chunky (yay!) with every day! She has now learned how to roll over both ways and can turn herself. She loves to play with toys but gets so upset when they get out of reach for her to grab! She wants to crawl so bad and will prop herself up on her hands in an "upward facing dog" position and try to inch forward but only pushes herself back!

Ella has been talking/screeching all the time, it is really funny to listen to. She doesn't like to wear headbands and will try to pull them off her head all the time. She has also been so close to sitting up and wants to but hates sitting in the bumbo after about a minute! She has some quirks about her, but I still love her and she has stole our hearts and continues to make us smile everyday!

Boston is Two

Friday, September 4, 2015

I got Boston's pictures done at the nature park here in Rexburg. We started at the playground, which is just something he loves! He was a little stinker when it came to taking his picture as he would run from one end of the playground to the next without time to really take a good picture. But the photographer (Katy Montross Photography) who also did Ella's pictures (which you can see here) did a wonderful job! She was able to get pictures of Boston smiling when he sure refused to try to give her a smile, being too busy looking at ducks, throwing rocks, or running around on the playground. I was so happy with how they turned out!

My sweet little boy Boston is now a two-year old! My has the time flown. He sure is full of energy and always entertaining to be around. He sure love his little sister and loves to give her kisses and hugs when she is sad. He is such a caring, funny, energetic little boy! His personality grows more and more each day as well as his vocabulary. He knows many animal sounds and some of his favorite words to say are, "more, church, dog, and grandpa".

He is 29 pounds and 35 inches tall, which puts him in the 55th percentile for weight and 66th percentile for height. He has grown so much and I can't believe how fast it has gone by.

Some of Boston's favorite things are watching Frozen, playing with cars, playing outside, eating strawberries and peanut butter sandwiches, dancing to music, and swimming. He has been such a great helper with his little sister, who he loves, and genuinely cares for her. I love seeing his relationship with Ella and how sweet he is with her. Other things Boston can do is doggy paddle in the water and "shhh" when Ella is asleep. I sure love this crazy kid, and so glad he is mine!
