Boston's Second Birthday

Sunday, August 30, 2015

Boston is TWO! What!? My baby boy is not so little anymore!! Can't believe how quickly those two years went by! He is sure full of love and a fun little boy to have around and keep you entertained!

With Boston's birthday falling on a Sunday, we woke up and went to church like any other Sunday but when we got home we had a party! Boston's Grandma and Grandpa Mecham, as well as his Great-Grandma Lundholm were able to come up to Rexburg for the weekend to celebrate! Boston sure loved having his grandparents here to enjoy his day with him!

Boston is ALL boy! He loves outside, playing with rocks, dirt, cars and with the sound effects to go along with it. I knew that I wanted to make him a truck cake! And it was actually really easy, since part of the cake was "destroyed" anyway! I was able to find some candy rocks and MilkDuds for the rocks, and then used crushed up Oreos for the dirt and whoppers for the base. The little toy construction vehicles were just at my local DollarTree. For the sign I used Photoshop to design the sign and then just used lollipop/sucker sticks to attach the sign to and stick in the cake! I was very happy with how it turned out, even if it took me until four in the morning to finish to make sure the cake as well as all the decor was up and presents wrapped.

The party wore this little guy out he fell asleep right on the floor, in the midst of his new toys! But there is no other way, except to party hard! Am I right?

Ella {4 Months}

Monday, August 24, 2015

Time just keeps going faster and faster, Ella is growing so quickly and changing right before our eyes! Everyday it seems she is learning more and forming her little personality. Some things about Ella at four months are; she has started to sleep through the night! It has been so amazing! Boston and Ella share and room and for the majority of the night they sleep through it! I am so happy that she took to sleeping through the night! Boston started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks so to have them both do it at such a young age is awesome for mom! I feel much better in the morning not being interrupted as much anymore.

All that sleep she gets might just be the reason she is growing so big! She is 24 inches and 15.5 pounds! Which puts her in the 79th percentile for weight and 70th percentile for height. She is so chunky and I always find myself just squeezing her thighs and commenting that she is, "So chunky!"

Ella has gotten more active by starting to play with toys and watching her hands and big brother Boston. She just loves to stare at him running around, I admit he can be quite entertaining. Ella is so sweet and smiles and laughs all the time, which makes it so fun! All you have to do is just smile at her and she will smile right back! She has been such a joy to have and I love my little Ella Bella!
