Boston's First Camping Trip

Tuesday, July 28, 2015

While we were down in Utah visiting family Blake took Boston camping with a lot of the Mecham boys in the family. They went down to the Henry Mountains in Southern Utah. They left Sunday morning and returned Tuesday late afternoon. I felt like I hardly saw Blake while we were down in Utah for two weeks. I went down with the kids four days before he did, so he could finish up his finals without any distractions. He finally got to Utah late Thursday night and left Sunday morning for three days. So for the two weeks I was down in Utah, I saw him for about half the time. I know this isn't a lot of time, but I much rather be with him than not be. Regardless of that Blake said that Boston had so much fun!

Boston loved riding on the four wheels and going for rides with Blake and his grandpa. He couldn't get enough of it! Almost every time he fell asleep and would want Blake to hold him as he drove.

Boston would play in the stream all the time - running around picking up leaves and throwing them in the water. He loved to watch them float down and have so much fun doing it over and over again. It sounded like they had a great time camping! Boston especially loved seeing all the deer and would even point them out as he saw them.

Pioneer Day {2015}

Friday, July 24, 2015

For Pioneer Day this year, we spent it with my family! The last two pioneer days since we have been married we were with Blake's family so we made the drive down to Delta (where my dad is from) to spend time with my family and the family on my dad's side. We started it off with the Hinckley parade! Which has got to be one of the best parades ever! We were in the shade, they threw lots of candy, and it was about half an hour long - so not too long, and not too short. Boston sure had fun chasing after the candy and putting it in his bag! This was the first time Boston had been to a parade so he wasn't sure what to do, but got the hang of it as it went on.

After the parade was over we went to the park where they had a little program with speakers and music. Boston had so much fun swinging his hips and dancing to the music, he sure made us laugh as he sure can keep a beat!

One of the best parts of the day is going to the Hinckley reservoir and swimming! There was also a potluck of so many yummy foods! Boston loved playing in the sand but didn't like the water too much, it was freezing cold, so I don't blame him! Both Blake and I tried our hand at the paddle board! Blake fell a few times, I fell once, but then got the hang of it! It was a fun day and we were so tired by the time we got back to Santaquin! Both Boston and Ella slept the hour long drive from Delta to Santaquin and I dozed off a few times as well! It was fun to finally be able to be a part of this family tradition that I had growing up and be able to spend it with my husband and kids.

Ella {3 Months}

This girl sure has chunked up, and I LOVE it! Her three month stats are 14 pounds and probably around 23.5 or 24 inches long. Since she didn't have a doctor's appointment this month I don't really get around to actually weighing her or measuring her! But since we have a scale I just step on it than step on it again to get her weight. I guess I could pull out a measuring tape and actually measure her, but it really isn't that big of a deal!

As for her development, she just learned to rollover! I was wanting her to do it, because she would get so close but couldn't get that last "oohmp" to rollover and would get so frustrated! But now she gets frustrated that she can't roll back over onto her back. What a silly girl! But now that she can rollover I am way more concerned when she takes naps and sleeps. I check on her way more because I don't want her to rollover and suffocate! I know it may seem extreme but it scares me! So I check on her and sometimes she is rolled over, so I roll her back over, and then she wakes up. I know that she should be okay, but I always just expect the worst! Especially at night time, since she only wakes up about once during the night and sometimes not even until the early morning!

Ella has also been so talkative! She loves to have a conversation with you and will just "coo" and "aah" and make all sorts of cute little noises! It is really fun to talk to her because she "talks" back! I can't help but smile and laugh out of the cuteness! This girl is so fun!

Fourth of July {2015}

Saturday, July 4, 2015

We were in Rexburg this year for the fourth of July. We still wanted to have fun with the kids even without family so we spent some of the day at the park and played outside for a lot of the day. There was a parade in the morning, and we considered going to it, but never did! Just the thought of being in the hot sun (there is like no shade on mains street) and being around so many people wasn't very appealing. So we just stayed inside, and got our patriotic clothes on and walked to the park to play.

Playing outside was sure fun for Boston! He loves outside and the park and running around, so he was in his element.

We decided to cool off with some popsicles after the park! I hardly let him have popsicles because they are such a sticky mess, but it was so hot and it was a holiday so I figured, "Why not?" And he loved it. Of course he still made a stick mess but that's what little boys do.

We also had our own little "barbecue". Since we don't have a grill we had to do it inside with hotdogs, corn, chips, and watermelon! Such a delicious summer treat! It was yummy and after dinner we decided to take Boston outside to have fun with some sparklers and "pop-its"! Our neighbors and friends were outside as well so we all kind of congregated over by their apartment and let the kids play with the "pop-its" which the just couldn't get enough of!

Our friends actually got some "big" fireworks which the kids loved to watch go off! But they still would have rather had more "pop-its" to throw! We bought five boxes and they just blew through them so fast! But it was fun to watch them have so much fun! We ended the day with watching some really big fireworks from the fairgrounds (which were live about 2 blocks from) and were able to seem them from our front lawn.
