Christmas {2012}

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

Our very first christmas together, we were lucky enough to find a good fake tree and ornaments for about $80 total! This should last us for a while!! I just am missing a tree skirt and a star, maybe next Christmas!? It was so nice to have a decorated tree, it really brought in the spirit of Christmas into our little apartment. We actually celebrated our own little Christmas a few days early before we headed down to Utah to celebrate Christmas day with our families!

While down in Utah we decided to buy a pregnancy test because I had missed my period and we had been trying to get pregnant. I got so anxious as we were checking out of Walmart buying the pregnancy test, because it made it so much more surreal. But Blake was so excited, he practically begged me to take it as soon as we got home. I stalled saying, I needed to drink water because it would make it easier to take. I sat there on the couch slowly sipping away at water for probably a half an hour as the test sat in my pocket. I was nervous and anxious, then I finally got up to take it.

After I had took it, I was waiting for either the positive or negative to show up. And slowly a little plus sign became visible. I could not believe it, I was actually pregnant. I actually had a moment of panic because it hit me, I had a baby growing inside of me, I was going to be a mom. I almost told Blake that it was negative because I was so nervous and a little scared. But I told him it was positive and he was so happy and hugged me, but I was still a little overwhelmed at how fast it all happened.

However, we didn't tell our families yet, I wasn't sure how reliable the little test were so I set up an appointment with a doctor to take a blood test. When we went we got the results, positive! I really was pregnant. Now we could tell our families. And we did, it was the day after Christmas when we did because that was the day of our appointment. Blake parents were so excited and started hugging us, and of course those pregnancy hormones were already kicking in as I just started balling!! I was happy but just started to cry, and the same thing happened when we told my parents. That little baby was the best Christmas present! Expected to arrive in August!

First Apartment

One thing I was so excited about while we were engaged was registering at the stores and picking out pieces to make our first home! Once we had settled in and were finally making our first home together, I had to snap a few pictures because this is our first home, though small, together.

Our Wedding Day

Friday, August 31, 2012

On August 31st, 2012 Blake and I were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple in American Fork, Utah. We had lots of family come out to support us on our special day, which made that even more a day we treasured.

It was quite they day as we were on our way to the temple, we happened to get pulled over! Blake was speeding because we were running a touch late but didn't want to risk it, however we had to stop as the officer pulled us over. My heart sunk as I knew it was us the cop was after, but thankfully he was nice and realized that we were on our way to get married so he let us off with a warning!

That wasn't the end of things though, all though the next thing wasn't too bad. As we were being sealed, the sealer didn't do it right, so we had to be married twice! Haha. And as sad as it is I don't remember anything the sealer said, I was just so happy to be getting married and full of emotion. I even remember thinking, "I need to listen and remember what he is saying because so many people forget! Well I forgot! Oh well at least I am married to Blake, that was the most important thing!

Next to the most important thing was to capture the day because other than Blake, pictures would be all I would be able to take away from the day. I wanted to get a great photographer who would be able to capture the feeling and emotions of the day. We had Tiffany Jane Photography from Saint George, Utah come up to do our photos. She also did my cousin Alli's wedding and I really liked her pictures so I thought she would be great to do my own wedding. I am very happy with how great they turned out as well as how quick she was when the pictures were being taken, that way I was able to enjoy the day, even admit the chaos.

Engagements

Saturday, July 28, 2012

As the wedding is coming up we needed to get our engagements taken so we could send out invitations. We had Kari Ann Photography do the pictures which were taken at Salem Pond here in Utah. I always am a little nervous to see how pictures turned out, but I am so happy with how they did turn out. Can't wait to send out our invitations!
